What wouldn't I give
to birth you
to give you this life

Was listening to Pilentze Pee while coloring this one :D It's a song done by Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares, the choir that sang the music in Xenogears ending FMV. The song never drew me close until I started working on the pic. Anyway...

I didn't intend the angel to be so un-feminine; it was a woman in the original sketch that I did a long time ago... But this is how it turned out. I actually like it better this way, too. You don't have to be female to experience the true labor. Although I've never given birth or raised children, I have always felt that giving birth, as painful as it may be, is "easy" compared to raising a child.

It's not just about raising a biological child, either. It's someone you love -- someone you watch over, protect and shape. Like a disciple, a significant other or a very special friend. Or all of them in one package...!

OH, and to those of you who think I should draw more anime stuff: take this with a grain of salt >D
